Can I use nylon strings on my steel string guitar?

Technically you can, but we don’t recommend it. If you want a nylon gutiar, we recommend the OC520, OC522C, or OC660M (or JCC522C for a fixed neck full sized classical) – these models have adequate string spacing, bracing and scale to get propery sound projection, intonation, and playability out of nylon strings. If you use nylong strings on a steelstring guitar, the strings won’t sit well in the smaller nut slots, the action may not be correct, the truss rod adjustment will be off, and the tuning pegs and saddle pegs aren’t suitable. We recommend using steel strings on steel string guitars and nylon strings on guitars designed for nylon strings.  If you’re looking for strings that are easier to play on a steelstring guitar, you can try silk strings like D’addario EJ40, or Martin MA130 strings.
